Apple Raises Foldable iPhone Prices Amid Memory Inflation
Apple's upcoming product event is expected to be more about margin arithmetic than hardware romance. The company faces rising memory costs, which have forced a 100-year flood on pricing, according to Tim Cook.
The iPhone Ultra, a foldable device reportedly called the iPhone Ultra, is expected to start around $2,400 and top $3,000 at higher storage tiers. Early production is reportedly very limited, which could feed scarcity-driven demand.
Average selling price (ASP) lift compounds directly through a product's gross margin that already ran at 40.1% last quarter. The iPhone was $54.3 billion of Apple's revenue in the same period.
