Apple Sees Significant Institutional Investment Amid Market Volatility
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has seen a significant increase in institutional investment from Parallel Advisors LLC, one of its largest shareholders. According to the latest SEC filing, Parallel Advisors acquired an additional 15,354 shares of Apple stock during the first quarter, bringing their total holdings to 1,003,424 shares.
The acquisition represents a 1.6% increase in Parallel Advisors' stake in Apple and now makes up approximately 4.6% of their overall holdings. The value of these shares is around $254 million at the end of the most recent reporting period.
This is not an isolated incident, as other institutional investors have also been increasing their stakes in Apple. For instance, Vanguard Group Inc. boosted its stake by 1.9% during the fourth quarter and now owns over 1.4 billion shares valued at nearly $388 billion. Similarly, State Street Corp increased its stake by 1.1% during the same period.
These moves suggest that institutional investors remain confident in Apple's growth prospects, despite concerns about rising memory-chip costs and the competitive landscape of the smartphone market.
