Apple Stock Holds Firm at $310 Amid Strong Earnings and Security Updates
Apple's stock price held steady at around $310 on Nasdaq as investors digested the company's strong Q3 2026 earnings and recent security updates. The tech giant reported revenue of $109.4 billion for the quarter ended in June 2026, a 16% increase from the same period last year.
The breakdown also cited net income of $29.8 billion and diluted earnings per share of $2.02, with EPS rising 29% year over year on the back of higher margins and a richer product mix. The gross margin reached 50.1%, up from 46.5% in the prior-year quarter.
The iPhone segment saw revenue reach $54.25 billion in Q3 2026, up 22% from a year earlier and representing 49.6% of total company revenue. Mac revenue came in at $10.35 billion, rising 29% year over year and accounting for 9.5% of the total.
The security update provided an additional fundamental angle for investors focused on long-term ecosystem strength. Apple released iOS 26.6.1 on August 17, 2026, addressing 29 security vulnerabilities, including a critical ImageIO flaw that allowed arbitrary code execution via malicious image files and a Telephony bug that enabled network attackers to bypass IPSec authentication.
The company's product pipeline and iPhone 18 timing also remain in focus. Apple is expected to adjust its annual iPhone release cycle, delaying the base-model iPhone 18 until the first half of 2027. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple's first foldable iPhone are expected to debut in September 2026.
