Apple Stock Sinks on Reports of Foldable iPhone Production Issues
Shares of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) slipped as much as 3.2% on Friday, and were still down 2.2% by 2:00 p.m. ET.
The downturn was sparked by reports that the company's new foldable iPhone is facing production issues due to Apple's strict quality standards.
Nikkei Asia reported that the initial production run of the device was limited to just a few hundred units per day, and that Apple had added an additional trial production run last month as a result.
This has raised concerns about whether Apple will be able to meet market demand for the new product, which is reportedly set to be unveiled at an upcoming event.
