Apple Taps American Airlines Veteran for Key Government Role Amid Trump Era Policy Challenges
Apple is bringing in Nate Gatten, a veteran of American Airlines' government affairs, to lead its global government relations. He will take over as vice president of government affairs on August 31.
Gatten has experience in real estate and policy-making at JPMorgan Chase and Fannie Mae. Apple's current head of government affairs, Nick Ammann, will move down one level and report to Gatten.
Cook will continue working with governments, including the Trump administration, even as he prepares to hand the CEO reins to hardware chief John Ternus on September 1.
