Apple Taps Chinese Memory Chip Supplier Amid Price Surge
Apple is exploring a potential partnership with Chinese memory chip manufacturer CXMT as memory component prices surge. The Cupertino-based tech giant is testing CXMT's chips for integration into its iPhone and MacBook products, but regulatory approval from the White House remains a prerequisite.
The U.S. export regulations prohibit technology exchange with CXMT, limiting Apple to standard product procurement. However, securing a Chinese supply partner could strengthen Apple's negotiating position on pricing.
Apple stock is currently valued at $313.33, carrying an analyst consensus of 'Moderate Buy' with a target price of $330.44. The company reported third-quarter results showing $109.42 billion in revenue, representing 16.4% year-over-year growth and exceeding forecasts.
