Apple Taps John Ternus as New CEO Amidst AI-Driven Growth Challenges

Apple has named John Ternus its new CEO, replacing Tim Cook who will now serve as executive chairman. The move comes after Cook's 15-year tenure, during which Apple grew into one of the world's most valuable companies.

Ternus' compensation package includes a target stock award worth around ₹522.5 crore for fiscal 2027. This is in addition to an annual salary of about ₹28.5 crore and a prorated restricted stock unit (RSU) award worth around ₹23.7 crore for fiscal 2026.

About 75% of Ternus' stock award will be performance-based, while the remaining 25% will be time-based and vest over four years.
