Apple Unveils Foldable iPhone Duo at $1999 Amid Stock Slump
Apple has unveiled its first foldable iPhone, the Duo, priced at $1,999. The device features a 5.4-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch display inside, making it Apple's thinnest iPhone ever when unfolded.
The reveal was led by new CEO John Ternus, who took over from Tim Cook on September 1. Despite the historic product launch, AAPL stock slipped slightly, ending the day roughly flat, a phenomenon known as 'sell the news.'
Investors are weighing the high price against expected sales volumes, with Citi estimating only around 5 million foldables in the second half of 2026.
