Apple has unveiled its first foldable iPhone, called the iPhone Duo. The device was presented by newly appointed CEO John Ternus at Apple's annual fall event in Cupertino, California.

The iPhone Duo features a unique design that opens and closes like a book, with a 5.4-inch outer display and 7.6-inch inner display, making it the largest foldable display on an iPhone yet. It has a titanium frame, IP68 water resistance, and a custom hinge with magnets designed to keep it closed.

The device also includes features like a nanotexture display, a two-camera system, Touch ID in the side button, Apple Pencil support, and side-by-side app functionality with new layouts for popular apps. The iPhone Duo runs on Apple's new A20 Pro chip, which provides 35% higher sustained performance than the iPhone 17 Pro.

The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 and will be available for preorder on October 16, with sales beginning on October 23. Apple also unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, both powered by the new A20 Pro chip and featuring improved performance and battery life.
