Apple Unveils Foldable iPhone Duo with $1,999 Price Tag
Apple Inc. has unveiled its latest iPhone model, dubbed the 'iPhone Duo', which features a foldable design with two displays - a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display.
The device is powered by Apple's A20 Pro chip and comes in storage options up to 2TB. The iPhone Duo boasts a titanium frame and IP68 rating, indicating its water and dust resistance.
Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo are set to begin on October 16, with stores receiving the devices on October 23. The starting price of the device is $1,999.
In addition to the new iPhone model, Apple announced that John Ternus has taken over as the company's new CEO. Ternus was previously the senior vice president of hardware engineering at Apple.
The introduction of the iPhone Duo and the N1 chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, marks a significant move by Apple to control key components in its devices.
Analysts predict that the foldable phone market will reach approximately 22.3 million units in 2026, with Apple's iPhone Duo expected to capture around 33% of the foldable phone market this year and 40% in 2027.
