Apple Unveils iOS 27 with AI-Powered Siri and Performance Boost
Apple has rolled out its latest iOS update, version 27, which brings several new features to compatible devices. The update, released on September 14, includes improvements to Siri AI and systemwide performance changes.
The tech giant's iOS 27 is supported on iPhone 11 and newer models, as well as the iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later. However, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI require iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, or iPhone 16 and later, meaning many phones receiving iOS 27 will still miss its biggest AI additions.
One of the most notable features in this update is the overhaul of Siri AI. The new version can search personal context across messages, email, and photos, act across apps, and answer questions about on-screen content. A dedicated Siri app has also been added for revisiting conversations.
Another significant feature is Visual Intelligence in Camera, which allows users to point at objects, ask questions, and take actions directly from the viewfinder. The Photos app has also received an upgrade with new editing features such as Spatial Reframing, Extend, and Clean Up.
