Apple Unveils iPhone Duo Amid Slight Dip in Stock Price
Apple's highly anticipated foldable iPhone, dubbed the 'iPhone Duo', was unveiled at a product launch event in Cupertino, California on September 9, 2026. The device features a size and form factor comparable to Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Z Fold 8, which was introduced in July.
The iPhone Duo is priced at $1,999 for the 256GB model, with pre-orders set to begin on October 16th and availability in stores starting on October 23rd. However, despite the excitement surrounding the new product, Apple's stock price dipped 0.28% from the previous session at $315.34.
Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan noted that historically, Apple can experience a short-term stock pullback following a product launch, often referred to as a 'sell-the-news' reaction. This phenomenon tends to recover within one to two months.
Rising memory expenses are also putting pressure on Apple's stock gains, with the company facing strong cost pressures in recent times.
