Apple vs OpenAI: Trade Secret Lawsuit Takes Ugly Turn
OpenAI has fired back at Apple in their ongoing trade secret lawsuit, accusing the iPhone maker of trying to slow down its potential competitor and discourage staff from leaving.
In a court filing, OpenAI denied Apple's allegations that former employees Tang Tan and Chang Liu stole confidential information related to hardware design, manufacturing, and supply-chain operations.
OpenAI claims that Apple is using the lawsuit to try and prevent it from entering the consumer devices arena, where Apple has a strong presence.
The two companies had previously collaborated on increasing ChatGPT's reach and supporting Apple's efforts in the AI race. However, the lawsuit has brought about an ugly tussle between the two giants.
