Apple's Foldable Future Looks Bright
Melius Research has reaffirmed its buy rating for Apple Inc. (AAPL) following the launch of the iPhone Duo, a new foldable device with a starting price of $1,999.
The research firm attended the product launch event in Cupertino and was impressed by the phone's features, including a thin design, large screen, and camera system that allows photo subjects to see themselves on the back of the device while being photographed.
Melius believes Apple could sell 15 million Duo units in fiscal year 2027 if supply allows, with mid-teens production builds appearing possible. This would drive iPhone revenue growth of 20% over the next two years, compared to the current consensus estimate of 9% growth for fiscal 2027.
However, not all analysts are optimistic about Apple's prospects. Lynx Equity downgraded Apple's stock, citing supply chain challenges that could affect the company's fiscal 2027 performance.
