Apple's Foldable iPhone Faces Initial Stock Shortage and Delayed Availability
Apple's highly anticipated foldable iPhone is expected to launch in September 2026, but buyers may face challenges getting their hands on one. According to supply chain claims, the initial production batch will be extremely limited, with only around 5 lakh to 10 lakh units potentially available during the third quarter.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has warned that early production could remain tight, with a total shipment of around 70 lakh to 80 lakh units by the end of 2026. This limited stock combined with a premium launch price of $2,300 to $2,500 may result in long preorder queues and delayed deliveries in some markets.
Kuo has compared the situation to Apple's iPhone X launch in 2017, where customers had to wait until November before it reached stores.
