Apple is reportedly working on its first foldable iPhone, but the company may face a significant challenge in meeting demand due to production issues. According to reports, early production numbers are limited to just a few hundred units per day as Apple works through manufacturing problems and ensures the product meets its high quality standards.
This slow ramp-up is unusual for Apple, which typically produces iPhones at massive scale. The foldable iPhone is expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on September 9th, but it may come with a hefty price tag of between $2,300 and $2,500, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Despite the potential shortage, Apple's high-end product may actually benefit from its exclusivity. A limited supply could drive up demand and make the device seem more desirable. However, if production doesn't increase rapidly enough after launch, Apple may struggle to translate that demand into significant revenue.
