Apple's Foldable iPhone Production Falls Short Amid Quality Control and Memory Shortages

Apple is struggling to meet production targets for its foldable iPhone, which is set to debut on September 9. According to Nikkei Asia, the company is currently producing only a few hundred units per day due to tight quality controls and memory shortages.

The report states that Apple has extremely high quality requirements, with an additional trial run in August ahead of actual production. This has resulted in slow ramp-up of output, which could be challenging to meet market demand.

Industry executives told Nikkei Asia that tens of thousands of phones would normally need to be produced each day to meet the planned production goal for the foldable iPhone, which is targeted at 8-10 million units this year.
