Apple's Foldable Phone Unveiling May Come with a Price
Apple is set to unveil its latest products at its 'Surprise and Shine' launch event on Wednesday, marking a new era under CEO John Ternus. The highly anticipated iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will feature a new A20 Pro chip built on a 2-nanometer process.
The design of these models is expected to be similar to last year's iPhone 17 Pro, with the Pro Max possibly getting a size and weight bump for a larger battery. New Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models are also in store.
However, the real talking point is Apple's first foldable phone, rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra. This device will fold like a book, measuring around 5.5 inches when closed and 7.6 inches open. As expected, it will come with a high price tag.
Apple's shares have risen 18% year-to-date, outperforming peers Alphabet and Microsoft. However, the stock is trading at a premium, with a P/E ratio of around 33.6, compared to Alphabet's 20.4 and Microsoft's 24.7.
