Apple's Market Value Surges $1.5 Trillion in Past Year
Apple's market value has surged by over $1.5 trillion in the past year, reaching an impressive $4.54 trillion.
The company's worth increased by more than two and a half times its entire value a decade ago, when it was around $580 billion.
An investor who purchased $10,000 worth of Apple shares in August 2016 would now have approximately $126,000, thanks to the stock price increasing 11.5-fold from about $27 to $311 per share.
The dividend yield has decreased significantly over the past decade, shrinking from around 2% to 0.35%, indicating that most of the gain came from the rising stock price rather than dividend income.
Both earnings growth and a higher valuation multiple contributed to Apple's remarkable performance, with the company reporting a fourfold increase in earnings per share over the past decade.
