Apple's New CEO to Receive $58 Million Compensation Package
Apple's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), John Ternus, will receive a compensation package worth approximately $58 million in fiscal 2027. This is $11 million higher than outgoing CEO Tim Cook's compensation package, which was roughly $47 million.
Ternus' new role comes with a $3 million annual base salary and a stock grant with a target value of $55 million next year. He will also receive a prorated restricted stock unit grant worth about $2.5 million in fiscal 2026, which runs through September.
The equity award for Ternus is structured to align payouts with shareholder returns, with three-quarters linked to Apple's performance relative to the S&P 500. The remaining 25% will come from time-based stock units that vest in semiannual tranches.
