Apple's Retail Employees Drawn into September iPhone Event
Apple's upcoming iPhone event in September will be supported by a team of retail employees selected through a lottery. According to an internal memo, US store employees can enter a drawing for roles at the event, which is set to take place in the first half of the month.
The chosen workers will handle tasks such as line management, guest check-in, and security-team support, while those on stage receive the attention. Apple has used store staff as launch support for years, and this lottery offers team members a chance to participate in what they call the Event Support Experience Program.
The event is significant not only because it marks the largest product rollout of the year but also because it comes just days after John Ternus takes over as CEO from Tim Cook. The launch will feature a foldable iPhone for the first time, along with updated Apple Watch models and other hardware. Investors are looking to see whether this new product creates a wave of upgrades.
The employee lottery is open until August 8, and winners will be notified by August 17. Those who worked last year's iPhone launch or this year's Worldwide Developers Conference are not eligible for the drawing.
