Apple's Steady As She Goes Amid AI Strategy Shift
Apple's stock held steady at $316.41 on Thursday morning, despite a volatile market and declining shares in other major tech companies.
This stability is attributed to Apple's unique approach to artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure investment. Unlike Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet, which are aggressively spending on AI development, Apple is focusing on protecting its cash machine and carefully introducing consumer-facing AI capabilities across its installed base of 2.5 billion devices.
This strategy comes with a price tag: Apple's stock trades at an elevated valuation of 11.52% above its GF Value estimate of $283.73 and around 36 times trailing earnings. While Apple's fiscal third quarter results were impressive, with revenue surging 16% to $109.4 billion and earnings jumping 29% to $2.02 per share, the company faces a tougher challenge in turning its AI strategy into faster upgrade cycles and stronger Services engagement.
