Arcada Secures Boeing's Autonomous-Flight Tech with Wisk Aero Acquisition
Arcada Aviation is acquiring Boeing's electric aircraft firm Wisk Aero and two other units in a deal that will give Boeing a nearly 20% stake in the air-taxi maker.
The acquisitions also include drone maker Insitu and airspace-services provider SkyGrid, giving Arcada access to Boeing's autonomous-flight technology. This could bolster its position in defense and commercial logistics.
Arcada shares rose about 14% in morning trading after the announcement.
