Archer Aviation is expanding its operations beyond its original electric air-taxi ambitions after announcing an all-stock transaction to acquire three Boeing businesses.

The deal, announced on August 10, 2026, includes Wisk Aero, a drone manufacturer; Insitu, which develops and operates unmanned aircraft systems for defense, security, and intelligence applications; and SkyGrid, which provides airspace-management technology.

As part of the agreement, Boeing will receive newly issued Archer shares representing 19.75% of the company's equity and gain a seat on Archer's board.

The acquisition gives Archer an established defense business generating substantial revenue, particularly through Insitu, which generates over $200 million in annual revenue.
