Archer Aviation Acquires Boeing's Autonomous Flight Subsidiaries

Archer Aviation Inc., a leader in aerospace and defense technologies, has signed definitive agreements to acquire Boeing's Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid subsidiaries. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026.

The acquisition adds a profitable defense business with annual revenue exceeding $200 million and operations across 35 countries to Archer's portfolio. It also combines the pioneering autonomy and airspace intelligence software developed by Wisk, Insitu, and SkyGrid with Archer's leading purpose-built AI foundation model for aerospace and defense, ZEE.

Boeing will take a stake in Archer and become a strategic partner, establishing an ongoing collaboration and technology-sharing arrangement. This partnership enables Boeing to retain access to the autonomous flight technologies developed by Wisk while focusing on its core businesses.
