Archer Aviation Acquires Boeing's Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu Subsidiaries

Boeing has agreed to sell its subsidiaries Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu to Archer Aviation. This deal will create a groundbreaking end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense by combining complementary capabilities in autonomy, eVTOL aircraft, and unmanned aircraft systems. The acquired companies have nearly two million combined flight hours and have pioneered core autonomous flight technologies.

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of 2026, pending certain closing conditions. Archer's CEO Adam Goldstein called this deal a 'watershed moment' for the company, positioning it to deliver an end-to-end physical AI platform across commercial aerospace, defense, and air traffic management.

Boeing will retain access to Wisk's core autonomous flight technology through a collaboration and technology-sharing arrangement. This agreement allows Boeing to focus on its core businesses while still benefiting from the acquired technologies.
