Archer Aviation Soars on Acquisition of Boeing Subsidiaries
Archer Aviation's acquisition of Boeing's Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid subsidiaries has sent its stock price soaring. The all-stock deal gives Boeing a 16.5% stake in Archer and warrants that grant it the right to purchase up to $200 million in additional stock. This means current shareholders will see their percentage-based stake in Archer reduced due to dilution.
The acquisition of these units from Boeing is a significant move for Archer, which is rapidly diversifying its business. Insitu alone generates over $200 million in annual revenue and operates in 35 different countries. The integration of these businesses with Archer's existing operations will provide valuable infrastructure and support the evolution of its eVTOL aircraft projects.
The partnership with Boeing also includes a technology-sharing agreement, which should benefit Archer as it continues to integrate and evolve its autonomous flight software. While this deal brings short-term dilution for current shareholders, it could lead to long-term benefits through increased revenue and profitability.
