Arizona Law Enforcement Cracks Down on Interstate Cargo Thieves
A massive interstate cargo theft ring was dismantled in Arizona after a series of swift inter-agency communications and phone calls.
The operation started with the theft of a $250,000 shipment from Texas, which led to a high-stakes game of hide-and-seek across the state's highways.
Detective Peery from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office worked alongside the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) to intercept one of the stolen semi-trucks on Interstate 40, recovering a massive Amazon Prime cargo trailer.
After realizing there was a second truck unaccounted for, Detective Peery quickly reached out to Phoenix Police Sergeant Jeffrey Gordon, who then contacted Trooper Hamelton to track down the fleeing vehicle.
The rapid networking paid off as the second Amazon-branded trailer was successfully intercepted on Interstate 10 near Phoenix. Both trucks and their respective cargo loads were recovered, and multiple suspects were arrested.
