Arson Suspect Sought in Chevron Gas Station Fire
A man is being sought by Miami-Dade Sheriff's detectives in connection with an arson investigation at a Chevron gas station in southwest Miami-Dade.
The incident occurred on August 13, 2026, at approximately 2 a.m. at the Chevron station located at 8698 Southwest 40th Street.
Detectives say the suspect approached pump number two and intentionally set the pump on fire before fleeing the area.
He was last seen running south on Southwest 87th Avenue from Bird Road, wearing a distinctive white armband with black stripes on his left arm and carrying a bag with a cardboard sign reading 'Cuban Lives Matter End Embargo.'
