ASL Aviation Buys Two Boeing 747 Freighters Amid Expansion Plans
ASL Aviation Holdings has purchased two Boeing 747-400 freighter aircraft from Seattle-based Altavair, securing capacity for shippers and ensuring no interruption in long-haul air transportation services. According to spokeswoman Saoirse Claffey, the purchase was an opportunity to acquire the older jumbo jets when their owner decided to sell them.
The move comes as ASL expands its operations in Australia and New Zealand by transferring some standard-size cargo jets from Europe to its Australian carrier. The company has also recently announced plans to provide four Boeing 737-800 converted freighter aircraft to ASL Airlines Australia, supporting the expansion of regional operations for express carriers like FedEx and Qantas Freight.
ASL Aviation operates 150 aircraft across several countries, including Ireland, Belgium, France, the UK, Thailand, India, and South Africa. The company provides air transportation services to major cargo airlines such as Amazon, DHL, and UPS.
