ASL Aviation Holdings has strengthened its cargo aircraft fleet by acquiring two Boeing 747-400ERF freighters. The Dublin-headquartered group finalized the transaction on August 7, 2026, taking full ownership of the widebody jets from their previous leasing structures.

The Boeing 747-400ERF, a cornerstone for heavy logistics due to its high payload capacity and range, will be operated by ASL Airlines Belgium out of Liège Airport. The aircraft features a dedicated front nose-loading cargo door and side fuselage doors, accommodating oversized and specialized machinery.

The acquisition marks a key milestone in ASL's fleet and asset management strategy, according to the company representative. By converting leased assets into proprietary ones, ASL optimizes its balance sheet while solidifying its intercontinental transport capability.

The move ensures reliable long-haul services for the express logistics sector as air cargo demand continues its steady growth worldwide.
