AT&T's Internet Service Crashes Across Houston and Texas Cities

AT&T's internet service faced widespread outages in Houston on Monday afternoon. According to Downdetector, which tracks user-reported problems, the number of reported outages was 17 times higher than normal around noon. The issues started increasing steadily since about 10:30 a.m.

The problem affected multiple cities in Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas, as shown on AT&T's outage map. Google products, such as YouTube and Gmail, also experienced spikes in outage reports on Monday. Similar issues were reported on Sunday as well.

AT&T has not publicly identified the cause of the outages. On its website, the company estimated that restoring service might take 10 to 14 hours in some areas, with one location in Huntsville potentially taking up to 29 hours.
