A man has been arrested in connection with a fake law enforcement scam that allegedly stole $105,000 from a victim. Evera Charles Brown, 36, was identified by deputies as the suspect after he claimed to be with the Santa Rosa County Clerk of the Court and told the victim they had missed jury duty.

Brown allegedly convinced the victim to withdraw $105,000 in cash and meet him at an empty Home Depot parking lot, where he would receive the payment. The victim gave Brown the money on July 9th.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office said Brown was arrested with the help of the FBI in Atlanta, Georgia. He will be transported back to Escambia County either on Monday, August 3rd, or Tuesday, August 4th, where he will face charges.
