Atlanta Student's Carbon Tracking Platform Gains International Attention

Atlanta-based high school student Rhythm Bazari has created a carbon tracking and reporting platform called i-Pledge, which will be presented at the Global Sustainability Summit in New Delhi.

i-Pledge was built with support from Microsoft's corporate social responsibility programs and is designed to help individuals track their carbon footprint by making lifestyle changes across 11 habit categories.

The platform uses a methodology recommended by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to calculate aggregate emissions reductions.

Bazari, who founded the free youth-led nonprofit Minorities in STEM, was lead technical builder on the project and wrote the entire frontend of the platform.
