Atlanta Women Sentenced to 16 Years for $10 Million Amazon Heist
Two Atlanta women have been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for their roles in stealing nearly $10 million from Amazon. Brittany Hudson was convicted of 30 felony offenses and received a 16-year sentence, while her accomplice Kayricka Wortham received the same sentence with an additional year added after she pleaded guilty to forging a federal judge's signature.
The women used phony invoices and fake vendors to submit over 1,000 fictitious invoices, which were approved by Wortham through her position at Amazon. The stolen money was reportedly spent on luxury items, including a $1 million house and several high-end cars.
While out on bond payments, the duo attempted to defraud another company, allegedly using forged signatures of former Chief U.S. District Judge Timothy C. Batten, Sr. and Cobb County Magistrate Judge Norman L. Barnett.
