Atlantic Celebrates America's Birthday with Coca-Cola Days
Coca-Cola Days is an annual celebration in Atlantic, Iowa, that combines classic American traditions like baseball and apple pie. This year's event, held on September 25-26, has a special theme: 'An American Tradition' to commemorate the country's 250th birthday.
The festival will feature several activities, including the Apple Pie Baking Contest, which is open to anyone with a favorite recipe. Entries will be divided into three categories: Commercial/Restaurant, Adult, and Under 18. Registration for the contest is due on September 18, and pies should be delivered to the Cass County Community Center between 9 and 9:30 am on Saturday, September 26.
The new Baseball/Softball Throwing Contest will also take place at 1 pm on Saturday, with divisions for grade school, middle school, high school, and adults 18 and older. Everyone gets three throws, and the fastest one counts, with prizes awarded to the winners.
