Auction Looms for Abandoned Boeing 747 at Valencia Airport

A Boeing 747 aircraft has been sitting at Valencia Airport since 2008 due to unpaid debts linked to its owner, Pronair. Aena, the airport's management company, is currently going through the administrative process to remove the plane from the grounds.

The aircraft was brought to Spain by businessman Isidoro Romero in 2008 as part of a plan to transport goods internationally between Spain and China. However, the business venture failed to take off, leaving the plane abandoned for nearly two decades.

Aena has confirmed that the necessary steps are being taken towards a public auction, but no sale date or starting price has been set yet. If the aircraft cannot be preserved, its materials could potentially be offered to educational or non-profit organizations with a connection to aviation.
