Austin Hill Takes Over as Full-Time Replacement for Kyle Busch
NASCAR team Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has announced its full-time replacement for Kyle Busch, who passed away earlier this year. The team has chosen Austin Hill, a driver who has been with RCR since 2022.
Austin Hill will take over the #33 Chevrolet Camaro from the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway onward. He expressed his gratitude to RCR for giving him this opportunity and acknowledged that competing in the NASCAR Cup Series is every driver's dream.
Hill has been a staple of RCR's second-tier program in the #21 since 2022, winning 16 races during his time there. Despite continuing to do double duty in the Cup Series and O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, Hill will not return to the feeder series in 2027.
RRC owner Richard Childress praised Hill's growth as a driver and person, citing his work ethic and success across multiple levels of NASCAR competition.
