The Australian side has a grueling 12-month schedule that includes 20 Tests and 14 white-ball fixtures. McDonald stated that the IPL is part of their management plan for many players and provides performance benefits.

Key players like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green, Travis Head, and Josh Inglis hold lucrative IPL contracts, making availability a primary discussion point.
