Avengers Campus Pays Tribute to Comic Legend Jack Kirby

Disney California Adventure park's Avengers Campus has unveiled a new plaque honoring the legacy of Jack Kirby, a legendary artist and Disney Legend. The plaque was revealed on August 28, 2026, which would have been Kirby's 109th birthday.

Kirby is responsible for some of pop culture's most iconic characters, including Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man, the Hulk, and the Fantastic Four, among others. The artist himself once said, 'If you look at my characters, you will find me. No matter what kind of character you create or assume, a little of yourself must remain there.'

The private ceremony was attended by members of the Kirby family, including Editor-in-Chief Stephen Wacker and Vice President Brent Davies, as well as Executive Creative Director Brent Strong from Walt Disney Imagineering.
