Amazon's latest financial report has shown significant growth in its cloud business, AWS, which has re-entered an acceleration phase. The company's net sales for Q2 reached $200.6 billion, up 20% year-on-year, while operating profit was $27.5 billion, up 43% year-on-year.

AWS revenue grew by 37% year-over-year to $42.232 billion, marking the fastest growth rate in 18 quarters, with an operating margin of 39.4%. This acceleration is driven by AI and self-developed chip businesses, which are providing quantifiable income to address market skepticism over massive capital expenditures.

Amazon's AI business drives training, inference, data storage, vector databases, security governance, and CPU workloads, while self-developed chips like Trainium and Graviton help reduce customer costs and improve Amazon's infrastructure efficiency. Leading AI labs have committed to multi-year, multi-gigawatt levels of Trainium usage, granting higher visibility for AWS' future revenue realization.
