AWS Drops $6 Billion on Shreveport Data Center Campus
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced plans to invest $6 billion in a new data center campus in Shreveport, Louisiana. This investment is part of a larger plan that will see AWS spend $18 billion on all three data centers in the Caddo-Bossier area.
The site for the new campus is located at Resilient Technologies Park in west Shreveport and is being developed by construction partner STACK Infrastructure.
AWS expects to create 750 full-time jobs as a result of this investment, including roles for electricians, engineers, and data center specialists. According to Keith Klein of Amazon Web Services, the company is prioritizing pay and comprehensive benefits for its employees.
To support the new campus, AWS will be investing $400 million in water infrastructure. The completion of construction on the new campus is set for the middle of 2028.
