AWS and Microsoft have expanded their multicloud networking capabilities with the launch of Azure connectivity in public preview through AWS Interconnect, multicloud. This move allows customers to provision private, high-speed connectivity between AWS and Microsoft Azure on demand.

The service, which is now available in four regions, US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Europe (Frankfurt), was first introduced at AWS re:Invent in 2025 as a collaboration between AWS and Google Cloud using an open API specification.

AWS Interconnect, multicloud spans all three major cloud service providers, including Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The company has stated that it will continue to expand regional availability, increase bandwidth options, and deepen the experience based on customer feedback.
