Azure and AWS Unveil Multicloud Bridge for Private High-Speed Links
Microsoft and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have collaborated to create a service that enables private, high-speed links between their cloud platforms.
Azure Multicloud Interconnect combines with AWS Interconnect, multicloud, allowing customers to establish dedicated connections between Azure and AWS infrastructure without months of networking setup.
Until now, connecting the two environments required careful coordination, which could take weeks or months. Microsoft previously claimed there was little customer interest in multicloud, but now says Azure Multicloud Interconnect fundamentally changes things.
The service uses an open API specification developed by AWS and Google Cloud last year for network interoperability. Connections can operate at up to 100 Gbps from day one, with scope for future growth.
