Azure Drops Regional Subnet Quotas for SQL Managed Instance

Instruments

Azure SQL Managed Instance is simplifying capacity management for its commercial customers. Microsoft has removed regional subnet quotas and replaced them with hardware-specific vCore limits.

This change allows organizations to request additional quota only for the specific hardware type they use, giving them more precise control over capacity planning.

Existing customers won't need to reconfigure their deployments as Microsoft will automatically convert regional vCore quotas into the new hardware-specific model.
