Wonder Man Cancellation: Disney's Internal Decision Leaves Fans Confused
Disney+'s Wonder Man, an Emmy Award-nominated series starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley, has been 'unrenewed' for a second season. Showrunner Andrew Guest recently clarified that the decision was not a marketing stunt, despite initial confusion.
In a TikTok post, Guest revealed that contracts were signed, schedules cleared, and a writers' room was set to open this month. However, an internal decision between Disney and Marvel ultimately led to the cancellation of the second season.
Guest explained that 'this didn't make sense for them, even though a few months ago it did.' The show's star, Abdul-Mateen II, thanked fans for watching and expressed his appreciation for the experience, stating that the show 'worked' and vowing to see them at the Emmys.
