Ballmer Accused of Cheating in Business, Now in Basketball
Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has been accused of not valuing basketball as much as he valued Microsoft, his former company. The claim comes after the team was found guilty of circumventing the NBA Salary Cap to offer more money to Kawhi Leonard.
The Los Angeles Clippers were fined $30 million and lost five future first-round draft picks due to their actions. Multiple executives, including Ballmer, also received bans.
Former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Eddie Johnson compared Ballmer's behavior with Microsoft to the Clippers' actions. He suggested that Ballmer was willing to cheat in order to get ahead, just as he did when building Microsoft.
'I don't know what it is with him,' said Johnson. 'But does he value basketball like he values his company? I guarantee you he didn't allow anybody to do that.'
