Bangladesh Lands $3.7 Billion Deal for 14 US-Made Boeing Aircraft
Bangladesh has finalized plans to purchase 14 Boeing aircraft from the United States in a deal valued at $3.7 billion, marking the country's national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines' biggest-ever order.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat confirmed the development during a meeting in Mymensingh, saying that the US had requested Bangladesh to use Boeing aircraft, which the government is acting upon.
The country will also lease additional aircraft as part of efforts to modernize and strengthen its aviation sector. The deal comes after Bangladesh signed an agreement with US aircraft manufacturer Boeing in April.
