Bangladesh Signs $3.7B Deal with Boeing Amid Trump's Sales Pitch

Bangladesh has decided to purchase 14 Boeing aircraft for its national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, with an agreement signed between the airline and the US-based manufacturer.

The deal, worth USD 3.7 billion, includes a provision for Boeing to supply the planes in stages between 2031 and 2035.

Bangladesh aviation expert Kazi Wahid ul Alam commented on the sale, saying that US President Donald Trump acted like a 'salesman' during his visit to Bangladesh, trying to sell American products, including Boeing aircraft.

Alam also expressed concerns about upgrading Cox's Bazar airport to an international airport, stating that it may not serve much purpose given its location and lack of traffic or cargo.
