Bangladesh Weighs Airbus Deal Amid Boeing Pact
European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller has urged the government to ensure a 'level playing field' for aircraft manufacturers as Bangladesh weighs a potential Airbus purchase alongside its recently signed Boeing deal.
The agreement with Boeing, worth $3.7 billion, is for 14 aircraft that are expected to be delivered between 2031 and 2035.
Airbus has submitted a revised proposal, comprising four A350-900 wide-body aircraft and six A321neo narrow-body jets, after Biman's agreement with Boeing in April.
Miller said the EU expects discussions between Airbus and Biman to conclude 'very quickly' and that the government should take Airbus's offer 'very seriously', as it is 'incredibly competitive'.
